
Flight Instructor Rating
Our Flight Instructor Rating course equips experienced pilots with the teaching skills and CASA-compliant knowledge to train student pilots effectively. You’ll learn instructional techniques, lesson planning, student assessment, and regulatory responsibilities. This rating opens doors to a rewarding career in aviation training, helping you develop confidence and competence both in the cockpit and the classroom.

Prerequisites

Hold a current CASA Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) or Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).

Hold a current CASA Class 1 medical certificate.

Have completed a flight review within the last 24 months.

Have at least 200 total flight hours.

Requirements
Flight Training Requirements (CASA minimums):

Competency-based training focused on instructional techniques and flight demonstration (typically 10–15 hours dual).

Demonstrated ability to conduct flight instruction, student supervision, and assessment flights.
Theory Requirements:

Ground instruction on teaching methods, CASA instructor responsibilities, human factors in instruction, and student psychology.

Successful completion of the CASA Flight Instructor theory exam.
